The 50-year-old star, who rose to fame as a sex symbol in the 1990s, told People that she thought it was a “no-brainer” to join the subscription service OnlyFans to create her own content for her followers.
“I felt like, ‘Yeah, I need to do this,'” Electra explains. “I, for once, have this opportunity to be my own boss and have my own creative vision to share with my fans without someone watching me and saying, ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that. Cover this up.’”
She teases that her profile, which launched on Wednesday, will include beauty tutorials, vacation content, swimsuit and lingerie photos, as well as “sexier, more stylish photos and videos,” while allowing her to be “a little more intimate” with his fans, in one-on-one interactions.
And if she wants to “show a little more,” Electra points out that she won’t have to censor anything risqué with a strategically placed heart or star emoji, like she’s had to do on Instagram.
“People are going to do whatever they want to do with your photos anyway, you might as well be in control of them and follow whatever you feel like doing,” she says.
The latest step in the Baywatch star’s career comes after she filed lawsuits against several strip clubs in recent years for using her image without her permission. “It feels great to stand up for yourself,” she says. “I think what we’re going through right now is people are finally standing up for themselves and who they are… It’s not always easy to do, but I respect people who can stand up for who they are and be honest about it.”
Electra’s inaugural OnlyFans post features content from her recent trip to Palm Springs, where she celebrated her 50th birthday with her friends. “It’s kind of an annual thing because then all my friends can come over and I get a house and we just have fun. And I like to treat my friends, that’s how I am,” says Electra. “I pay for the house and then we have the best time barbecuing and swimming. I love being there so I have a home away from home.”
